I wish " Good Luck" to all students for the quizzez.

Human rights quiz.

E-Twinning project "There is a Midas touch in youth!"

On the last days of the holidays, January 8, 2021, the project participants took part in an international quiz on human rights.

This event required us to be extremely responsive and disciplined because the participants received a link to it a few minutes before the start. We kept in touch both in whatsapp and through e-mails and other social networks. Project coordinator Zehra Kanbolat (Turkey) on Whatsapp sent a link to the Zoom meeting to school project leaders from different countries, where teachers could follow the quiz online. The login code was also sent there.

Students showed an example of organization and punctuality. In spite of the evening time, everyone was ready for the competition and at the beginning of the eighth they began to complete the tasks of the quiz in English. in the system http://quizizz.com/

About 100 students took part in the quiz.

The best are ELIF ŠPHGFL, Ahmet Beyazbulutt, Vera Kurilova.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all participants for the great results!

I would also like to thank the project coordinator and teacher of the Anatolian secondary school Akif Palali from Adana Zehru Kanbolat and teacher Emre Inan from Canakkale Bahcesehir College (Turkey), who prepared and held this interesting event.

HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights are the fundamental rights and freedoms that all people have. Human rights are rights that can be enjoyed by all people regardless of race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, language or gender.

The concept of human rights arose with the establishment of the first ancient Greek city-states.

A person is considered as a member of society, not as an individual. Later, the concept of human rights began to affect other civilizations as well.
The concepts of equality and justice formed the foundations of human rights.

John Locke, who is considered the founding father of modern human rights in the 17th century and laid the foundation of today's human rights concepts, said that “no one can harm the life, health, freedom and property of another person” as a fundamental law of nature.

The universal declaration of human rights was announced on December 10, 1948 with the decision of the United Nations General Assembly, which was established after World War II.
This declaration aims to prevent any more crimes against humanity committed against people during the war.In addition, this declaration forms the basis of many national and international laws.

Besides this in 1990 The United Nations Assembly adopted the  Agreement on the Rights of the Child.

The most important human rights are;
*freedom of opinion
*The right to equality
*freedom from discrimination
*The right to life,
*liberty
*personal security.

Today, the headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Council is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
