HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights are the fundamental rights and freedoms that all people have. Human rights are rights that can be enjoyed by all people regardless of race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, language or gender.

The concept of human rights arose with the establishment of the first ancient Greek city-states.

A person is considered as a member of society, not as an individual. Later, the concept of human rights began to affect other civilizations as well.
The concepts of equality and justice formed the foundations of human rights.

John Locke, who is considered the founding father of modern human rights in the 17th century and laid the foundation of today's human rights concepts, said that “no one can harm the life, health, freedom and property of another person” as a fundamental law of nature.

The universal declaration of human rights was announced on December 10, 1948 with the decision of the United Nations General Assembly, which was established after World War II.
This declaration aims to prevent any more crimes against humanity committed against people during the war.In addition, this declaration forms the basis of many national and international laws.

Besides this in 1990 The United Nations Assembly adopted the  Agreement on the Rights of the Child.

The most important human rights are;
*freedom of opinion
*The right to equality
*freedom from discrimination
*The right to life,
*liberty
*personal security.

Today, the headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Council is located in Geneva, Switzerland.
