HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
Dear "Youth has the Midas Touch" project
participants,
I would like to introduce you our "New Year" video
which was recorded during our New Year Zoom Meeting with the participation of
our Turkish and Romanian students. This meeting was recorded by Yiğit from Hacı
Ömer Tarman Anatolian High School and turned into a new year video by Sude from
Hacı Ömer Tarman Anatolian High School. We thank Yiğit, Sude and all participants
of this video and wish you all a healthy, happy and successful 2021.
OYA ZEYNEP YILDIRIM
We welcomed you with excitement, joy and, most importantly,
brand new hopes, just like every new year. There were things we wanted to do in
the previous year, what we could not do, whether we wanted it to happen or not.
You were our hope 2020!
But you had other plans, we didn't know! We were surprised
at what we went through when we say fire, earthquake and flood; Besides, we
would be ashamed to wish even small things for ourselves. Covid-19 was your
golden hit. We still can't straighten our waist. What we lost is not just our
people; you got friends meetings, hugs. Distance communication, distance
education…. You got our closeness. We can't even dream now, you took the hopes
of those left behind.
It's been a long, long and sad 12 months. A new year is
coming again, now we pin our hopes on it. So go ahead, let's over 2020!
Special days are precious times that all people living in all
countries of the world that they will remember their loved ones. In addition,
every individual who lives with a sense of empathy respects, values and
remembers festivals, celebrations and
commemoration ceremonies, which are a part of the cultural heritage valued in
all societies. This week is Christmas for our Christian friends, New Year's
week for our Muslim friends, and the end of 2020 is the beginning of 2021 for
all the people of the world. Let's add some nice cards under this post with our
good wishes and let the world touch a little LOVE AND TOLERANCE.

Be inclusive. We welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
Be considerate. We all depend on each other to produce the
best work we can as a company. Your decisions will affect clients and
colleagues, and you should take those consequences into account when making
decisions.
Be respectful. We won't all agree all the time, but
disagreement is no excuse for disrespectful behavior. We will all experience
frustration from time to time, but we cannot allow that frustration to become
personal attacks. An environment where people feel uncomfortable or threatened
is not a productive or creative one.
Choose your words carefully. Always conduct yourself
professionally. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down others. Harassment
and exclusionary behavior aren't acceptable. This includes, but is not limited
to: - Threats of violence. - Discriminatory jokes and language. - Sharing
sexually explicit or violent material via electronic devices or other means. -
Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms. - Unwelcome
sexual attention. - Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
Do not harass others. In general, if someone asks you to
stop something, then stop. When we disagree, try to understand why. Differences
of opinion and disagreements are mostly unavoidable. What is important is that
we resolve disagreements and differing views constructively.
Our differences can be our strengths. We can find strength
in diversity. Different people have different perspectives on issues, and that
can be valuable for solving problems or generating new ideas. Being unable to
understand why someone holds a viewpoint doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. Don’t
forget that we all make mistakes, and blaming each other doesn’t get us
anywhere.
Instead, focus on resolving issues and learning from mistakes.
About the project
Europeanness, besides the national identity, points to a common civilized identity based on supranational, civic values. This identity, beyond cultural affiliations, is determined by principles that are produced from a universal, constitutional-legal framework and shared across Europe. These principles are universal. A European is respectful of human rights, tolerant, carries peaceful and democratic values, loves and protects nature and animals. It is not the owner but the guardian of the earth. It values art and literature and knows how to use technology correctly. In this project, a series of activities will be carried out to provide the necessary infrastructure and equipment for our young people between the ages of 14/19, who are our target audience to become European.
In this project, all students and teachers are expected to achieve the following goals:
*To understand the concept of “Europeanism”
*To have knowledge on human rights, women's rights, children's rights, animal rights, the right to education, etc.
*To create environments to use the common language English in the best way
*to communicate in the target language
*To get to know different cultures and to work in teams with them.
* to be aware of universal ethical values
*to gain awareness of protecting the environment and nature
* to use technology in effectively, correctly and safely
*To create tolerant, peaceful and democratic living and communication environments.
*To learn and use web 2 tools.
* to increase ss’ interests in lessons and ensure their active participation.
