Human rights quiz.

E-Twinning project "There is a Midas touch in youth!"

On the last days of the holidays, January 8, 2021, the project participants took part in an international quiz on human rights.

This event required us to be extremely responsive and disciplined because the participants received a link to it a few minutes before the start. We kept in touch both in whatsapp and through e-mails and other social networks. Project coordinator Zehra Kanbolat (Turkey) on Whatsapp sent a link to the Zoom meeting to school project leaders from different countries, where teachers could follow the quiz online. The login code was also sent there.

Students showed an example of organization and punctuality. In spite of the evening time, everyone was ready for the competition and at the beginning of the eighth they began to complete the tasks of the quiz in English. in the system http://quizizz.com/

About 100 students took part in the quiz.

The best are ELIF ŠPHGFL, Ahmet Beyazbulutt, Vera Kurilova.

HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights are the fundamental rights and freedoms that all people have. Human rights are rights that can be enjoyed by all people regardless of race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, language or gender.

The concept of human rights arose with the establishment of the first ancient Greek city-states.

A person is considered as a member of society, not as an individual. Later, the concept of human rights began to affect other civilizations as well.
The concepts of equality and justice formed the foundations of human rights.

John Locke, who is considered the founding father of modern human rights in the 17th century and laid the foundation of today's human rights concepts, said that “no one can harm the life, health, freedom and property of another person” as a fundamental law of nature.

The universal declaration of human rights was announced on December 10, 1948 with the decision of the United Nations General Assembly, which was established after World War II.
This declaration aims to prevent any more crimes against humanity committed against people during the war.In addition, this declaration forms the basis of many national and international laws.

Besides this in 1990 The United Nations Assembly adopted the  Agreement on the Rights of the Child.

The most important human rights are;
*freedom of opinion
*The right to equality
*freedom from discrimination
*The right to life,
*liberty
*personal security.

Today, the headquarters of the United Nations Human Rights Council is located in Geneva, Switzerland.

WELCOME 2020

OYA ZEYNEP YILDIRIM

We welcomed you with excitement, joy and, most importantly, brand new hopes, just like every new year. There were things we wanted to do in the previous year, what we could not do, whether we wanted it to happen or not. You were our hope 2020!

But you had other plans, we didn't know! We were surprised at what we went through when we say fire, earthquake and flood; Besides, we would be ashamed to wish even small things for ourselves. Covid-19 was your golden hit. We still can't straighten our waist. What we lost is not just our people; you got friends meetings, hugs. Distance communication, distance education…. You got our closeness. We can't even dream now, you took the hopes of those left behind.

It's been a long, long and sad 12 months. A new year is coming again, now we pin our hopes on it. So go ahead, let's over 2020!

EUROPEAN POINT OF VIEW

Special days are precious times that all people living in all countries of the world that they will remember their loved ones. In addition, every individual who lives with a sense of empathy respects, values and remembers festivals,  celebrations and commemoration ceremonies, which are a part of the cultural heritage valued in all societies. This week is Christmas for our Christian friends, New Year's week for our Muslim friends, and the end of 2020 is the beginning of 2021 for all the people of the world. Let's add some nice cards under this post with our good wishes and let the world touch a little LOVE AND TOLERANCE.

Professional Code of Conduct

Be patient and courteous.

Be inclusive. We welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.

Be considerate. We all depend on each other to produce the best work we can as a company. Your decisions will affect clients and colleagues, and you should take those consequences into account when making decisions.

Be respectful. We won't all agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for disrespectful behavior. We will all experience frustration from time to time, but we cannot allow that frustration to become personal attacks. An environment where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive or creative one.

Choose your words carefully. Always conduct yourself professionally. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down others. Harassment and exclusionary behavior aren't acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to: - Threats of violence. - Discriminatory jokes and language. - Sharing sexually explicit or violent material via electronic devices or other means. - Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms. - Unwelcome sexual attention. - Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.

Do not harass others. In general, if someone asks you to stop something, then stop. When we disagree, try to understand why. Differences of opinion and disagreements are mostly unavoidable. What is important is that we resolve disagreements and differing views constructively.

Our differences can be our strengths. We can find strength in diversity. Different people have different perspectives on issues, and that can be valuable for solving problems or generating new ideas. Being unable to understand why someone holds a viewpoint doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. Don’t forget that we all make mistakes, and blaming each other doesn’t get us anywhere.

Instead, focus on resolving issues and learning from mistakes.
